Help needed

Hi,

I am looking at going skiing this February, never ski%26#39;s in my life, have no idea where to start,

Have seen this place mentioned on quite a few sites, can anyone help me with some beginners advice please.

1. Where to stay

2. How to book ski lessons, as i will alomst certainly need them,

3. What items will i need for a first time ski trip (or can i hire most stuff)

Sorry to be so vague but i have never even thought of skiing before and would really appreciate some help.

Where to stay

check the Garmisch hotel reviews, there%26#39;s public transport (Skibus) to get you to the slopes from the hotels

How to book ski lessons

There are several ski schools at Garmisch, you can book private lessons or group lessons, pretty sure there are english-speaking instructors around. Your hotel can contact those, or you just walk in and they%26#39;ll take care of you

What items will i need for a first time ski trip (or can i hire most stuff)

Several shops (usually somehow attached to the ski schools) will rent skis, boots and poles.

Important items: warm jacket, trousers, GLOVES, all preferably waterproof. SUNGLASSES preferably light plastic ones and sunscreen . Warm cap or headband. With good weather you might be sweating, but in can also be freezing cold, so layers are good. You might touch ground quite a bit, so waterproof outdoor clothing makes sense. In any case protect your hands with gloves and your eyes with sunglasses, sun on snow is extremely bright.

Thank you so much for your advice, i have been taking some ski lessons here in england, although its on a dry slope, i thought that at least i would have some sort of an idea as to what to expect,

thanks again, will keep my eye on the snow fall now.
