My husband and I have 2 days (26,27 Dec) driving from Cochem to Garmisch. We want to go through the Black Forest. Any suggestions on a scenic route? Where to stay over?

Can%26#39;t give much advice with regards to the scenic route. There are quite a few nice hotels in the area though, one is the %26quot;Traube%26quot; in Tonbach, the other %26quot;Brenners Park Hotel%26quot;. A good guess would be that you take snow chains with you since the weather can be pretty ugly at that time of year in the Black Forrest region.

A scenic road and not a long way round is the %26quot;black-forest high street%26quot; (Schwarzwaldhochstrasse) between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt.
That you%26#39;ll be in need of snow-chains is highly unlikely, but winter-tires are indispensable.

2 small, reasonable and good hotels in Baden-Baden%26#39;s old town, near the Friedrichsbad : (though you shouldn%26#39;t mind church bells)
