cost for a day in berlin

can anyone give me a range on what once can expect to spend in a day in Berlin not including room costs (food, sightseeing, etc).?

Food costs really depends on whether you want to go to a fine-dining place or whether a fast-food place will do. For two in a fine-dining restaurant you should expect around 100 to 150 Euros (obviously it can be more too in gourmet places). A good sight-seeing tour will be around 75+ Euros. Cup of coffee used to be around 3-4 Euros.

We found Berlin amazingly cheap. A day%26#39;s transport costs 5.80 euros, a currywurst 1.50 euros, a beer between 2 and 3 euros, a 2 course meal with drinks in a Thai restaurant was about 40 euros, our walking tour with Insider Tours was 9 euros. Of course it can be a lot more expensive if you wish to make it so.

...I should mention the 40 euros in the Thai restaurant was for 2 people, 20 euros each. We found over our 4 nights in the city that this was the average price for a meal.

Hi, Berlin is still the cheapest city I know. In normal restaurants you rarely pay more than 10€ for a meal. Beside of that there are numerous snack bars fast food places (Doener, McDonalds etc.). Local transport is quite expensive (5-6€/day) but very effective. Museums cost 5-8€....

To cut a long story short, ...you can easily spend a day in Berlin with less than 20€ (25$).

Berlin is very much one of the cheapest cities I%26#39;ve been too, however I somehow always end up spending a fortune - being easily tempted because it%26#39;s all so cheap, with temptation everywhere! Amazing how much it all adds up, the odd drink or wurst here and there.

As others posted, you can live on about $20 a day, if you have a stronger willpower than I! Once you have bought a travelcard, which costs about 5 Euro a day, easy to get about and many sights to see costing little or nothing at all, ranging up to those which are more expensive.

Just returned 2 weeks ago from Berlin as a weekend tourist and it was exciting. As others wrote it all up to the individual. I being alone was totally satified buying meals from a coffee shop or from vendors for very cheap. Another time while on a business trip frequenting stylish places of course the costs go way up. I will say that in general that prices in Berlin areless than in Finland. With availability hotels, resteraunts, bargains are to be found with relative ease.
