New Years Eve, Cologne

Hello,

We%26#39;re thinking of going to Cologne for New Years Eve and wondered if anybody can tell us what it%26#39;s like, where to go, what to expect! We%26#39;re thinking of staying in the Flandrischer Hof, has anybody stayed there? Would you recommend it?

I don%26#39;t know the Flandrischer Hof inside, but it is situated pretty good.

There will be all kind of events all over the town. Impossible to specify all of them.

Very popular is watching the fireworks from the river rhine bridges. If you want to avoid the worst overcrowding, cross the river to the opposite riverside. There you%26#39;ll have an impressive panorama of the old town and the firesworks, too.

Some riverboats are offering party, resp. gala cruises.

Also recommendable is the %26quot;Köln WelcomeCard%26quot;, which gives free ride on all means of public transport within the VRS area (Cologne-Bonn linked transport system)
