Hi Stephen

When you klick here block-house.de/bh/…standorte.html

you%26#39;ll see the addresses of the different Block House Restaurants in Hamburg. The ones in Gänsemarkt are kind of in the city centre.

I can%26#39;t really say anything about good Italian restaurants. There is one inside the Levantehaus (http://www.levantehaus.com/) which is a shopping centre, where you can good meals but it%26#39;s nothing special:

Forum Massimo

Moenckebergstr 7

20095 Hamburg

There is also one in the new shopping centre, the Europa passage but I haven%26#39;t been there yet.

For sights that are recommended, just have a look at this forum. There were already a couple of threads about sight seeing in Hamburg.

If there is anything particular happening while you are in Hamburg depends on what you are interested in :-)

There is for example

-the Caspar David Friedrich exhibition in Kunstalle and all the other exhibitions in one of the musuems

There are some concerts in one of the numerous clubs, e.g.

-Subway to Sally on 28 Dec in the Docks

-Wolga Kosaken in Laeiszhalle on 27 Dec

- Jazz in the Cotton Club on 28 Dec

-ice hockey match (Hamburg Freezer / Nuerenberg Ice Tigers) on 29 Dec

-handball match on 27 Dec

-WITZIGMANN %26amp; RONCALLI BAJAZZO (for pictures see: www.witzigmann-bajazzo.de/index.php?id=104

-The little shop of Horrors

Hi Stephen

We have just returned from a two night stay in Hamburg. There are a few nice restraunts upstairs in the Gansemarkt passage - Baan Thai, steak restraunt, an italian, a chinese and a bistro. We ate in the Italian €47 for four main courses, three beers, two cokes, a brandy and a cappucino. The first night we ate in CHA CHA a thai restraunt, there are two in Hamburg one upstairs in Europa Passage and one in Hamburger Hof.

Try and get a copy of the Hamburg Guide www.hamburg-guide.de

We were there for the Xmas markets which finish on 23rd Dec. We went to see Rathaus - city hall and St. Michaelis church which were good. Plenty of shopping. We didnt get to see Reeperbahn or the Speicherstadt, so cant comment on them. There are plenty of trains out of Hamburg, Lubeck is supposed to be worth a visit
