Its easy to travel round berlin. Public transport is easy %26amp; plentiful. I recommend getting a tourist ticket from the Airport Express station which costs 19 euros for 48hrs and covers all the transport.

Take the Airport Express from Schonefeld to Zoogarten station (30/40 mins). The 109 %26amp; 110 buses run the length of the Ku%26#39;damm from Zoogarten.

We took walking tour www.insiderberlintours.com and found it really interesting.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The Eisbaeren (polar bears) are playing in the eastern part of the city (Hohenschönhausen). It is easy to get there from the city centre with local transport system (BVG).

Just use the BVG journey planner:

http://www.fahrinfo-berlin.de/

Their arena is called %26quot;Sportforum Hohenschönhausen%26quot; or inofficial %26quot;Wellblechpalast%26quot;. In order to reserve tickets call 030 - 9718 40 40.... I%26#39;m sure that your Hotel helps you out with that.

Must sees for WW2 history are certainly the Gedaechtniskirche, a church that is still destroyed. Beside of that I highly recommend the exhibition %26quot;Topographie des Terrors%26quot;. It is located where the headquarters of Gestapo and SS once were. The entry is free. You find it in Niederkirchnerstrasse 8, close to Potsdamer Platz.

You don%26#39;t have so much time but maybe you want to visit a concentration camp as well. You find the KZ %26quot;Sachsenhausen%26quot; in Oranienburg. (ca. 1 hour from Berlin%26#39;s city centre).

In mid feb it is normally pretty cold. You expect anything between -10 - 10°C.

I just returned and used schönefeld airport it went real smooth -it is a small airport and ez directions etc...

There is a train station stop 400 yards from the airport with trains going into the city. it is inexpensive 2.10€ to go anywhere in Berlin.

I went to an icebears game too !!! It was great. Alot of atmosphere at the arena ( it is an old bldg. with not many ammenities but the noisy fans make up for it. The team is playing well at the moment and they have a few players from the USA and Canada. The arena is a little farther out get there by taking the M5 tram from Alexanderplatz. It takes a good 20 min. just look for the fans out front etc.. There were bbq%26#39;s, beer sales, etc.. not to different than in WI making for a good pre game festivities. Tickets may be hard to get the game I went to was a sell out but I think there are always standing room tix.

I would simply recommend going to Potsdamer platz area there is old and even better lots of new it is an active area with shops, dining, cafes etc... Enjoy...

Schönefeld Airport transfer:

tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187323-s301/Berlin:G…

(also check info on journey planner!)

I%26#39;d recommend going on a day/half day walking tour (check Berlin forum or Berlin Inside pages for tours). These tours should cover quite a bit of WWII and provide you with a broad overview of Berlin sights. You could return to some WWII sites after having finished the tour (just by yourself) or go on another WWII dedicated tour, eg http://www.berlinwalks.de/tours.html.
