apts in Tiergarten

my husband and 1i will be coming to Berlin for 3 nights in July, which would be best please an apt in Tiergarten or one in Prenzlaur Berg,and are both places easy to access from Tegel airport on public transport? thanks

Hi,

Prenzlauer Berg would be much better. It is very easy to get from Tegel to P%26#39;Berg (takes ca. 30-45 minutes with TXL express bus - you have once, though).

It depends which area you want to be in,personally i prefer the Tiergarten and go eating and drinking on ku%26#39;damm/Schoenberg. A taxi from Tegel to Tiergarten is only about £8 so I would suggest that . For Prenzlaurberg you might be best with public transport

a taxi from TXL to P%26#39;Berg costs less than 20€ (~13£)....

Try www.i23berlinzimmer.de and www.ferienwohnungen24.de for more apartments. TXL bus passes through Tiergarten by the way. We%26#39;ve stayed on Novalisstrasse in Mitte, booked through 123berlinzimmer. Very central for sightseeing (pretty well everything accessible on foot though Oranienburgerstrasse S-Bahn and Oranienburger Tor U-Bahn were near).

Berlin has a pretty good public transport system so you%26#39;ll reach both apartments quite easy. You%26#39;ll have to change at least once anyway.

Prenzlauer Berg is definitely a nice area, with Tiergarten it depends where it is. Tiergarten has some really nice areas while you also find some not soo nice (bat not rough or dangerous or anything like it) areas.
