Check inside page on neighborhoods to find out which area you prefer:

I would recommend Mitte, especially the area around Hackescher Markt and Oranienburger Strasse - many nice restaurants and walking distance to all major sights!

Berlin has a pretty good public transport system so therefore anywhere in Central Berlin is fine, e.g. Charlottenburg, Schöneberg, parts of Tiergarten, Kreuzberg, Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg or Friedrichshain.

In Mitte you%26#39;ll find the majority of sights but I personally don%26#39;t like Mitte so much when it comes to going out, e.g. restaurants and bars. Very often I find the restaurants overpriced for what is offered.

I personally recommend either Prenzlauer Berg or Charlottenburg. Out of these two I prefer Charlottenburg but that could be because I live there. ;-) From both areas you easily reach the sights plus you have nice bars and restaurants in walking distance.
