Need help planning a trip to Germany

Hi,

I have a 1 week vacation in June that I would like to spend on a relatively inexpensive European vacation (I live in the US)

1. Having been to Paris, I thought Germany would be a good destination. Is June a good time to visit? How expensive are the hotels there, and how difficult is it to travel around?

I%26#39;m interested in general sightseeing, historical places, great architecture, and some museums. Am not particularly interested in shopping, or cuisine.

If I land in Frankfurt, how expensive will it be for me to travel around to Berlin and Munich?

Can I get cheap and safe hotels in either of these cities for about $100 a night or less?

Can someone suggest orther European destinations that might be as good / better idea?

Other possible destinations outside Europe?

Thanks.

You can easily spend your entire week vacation in one city in Germany and its nearby surroundings and have plenty of excellent things that you did not have time to visit.

June is an excellent time to visit Germany. The weather will be warm. There will many more tourists later in the summer.

Germany has excellent public transportation in and near large cities, and fair public transportation in more rural areas.

You should be able to find some hotels near the city center within this price range, and the further you go out from the center the hotels will usually get less expensive. There are also youth hostels, no matter what your age in most places in Germany.

You could visit my favorite European city, Istanbul. There is easily more than enough fascinating sights and things to do for over a week, and it is inexpensive.

Morocco is fascinating. Try Fez or Marrakech.
