Just got back from Berlin!

My family and I just came back from a trip to Berlin. Thanks to all your suggestions here we had an awesome time! The bus/tram system is so easy and convenient. We never had to wait more than 6 minutes for a bus. We stayed at Hotel Bregenz and rode or walked the whole city. My husband visited Berlin 32 years ago with his family and he was amazed at the changes in the 12 years since the wall came down. The only draw back was that we paid full price to get in the museums and then found out that after 6 pm they were free. Something about it being the first thursday of the month. Oh, well. We had a great weekend anyway. The dome on the Reichstag was a great thing to see and the veiw from the Berliner Dom was amazing. My favorite thing was just wandering around and looking at the many juxtapositions that is Berlin.

A few tips I learned:

~Bus 100 and bus 200 are the ones to be on to see the big sights.

~If you have small children there is a special entrance at the Reichstag for you.

~The first Thursday of the month the museums after 6pm are free.

~Just up the street from Checkpoint Charlie there is a great out of the way italian resturant called %26quot;Edoni%26quot;

thanks for your report! By the way.... the most important museums are free on every thursday after 6pm...not only on the first of the month.

thanks, Solid8. I was unaware of that. You live in a very exciting area. I live in a small town in southwestern Germany that roll up the streets at 9pm. haha! It was a nice change to be someplace so vibrant at night.
