Travel Conditions

We are planning on renting a car to see Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg. We will then head to Agen in Southern France. If we decide to drive to Agen, what would be the preferred route, based mainly on road condition and ability to make the drive in one day.

Or, should we just take the train from Mulhouse, France to Agen? This train goes to Paris first, then to Agen. It leaves at 500 hours and arrives at 1600 hours in Agen. Please suggest if there is a better spot to get on the train, keeping in mind that we have to drop the car off in the same town as we get on the train.

You should definitly drop the car already in Germany. International drop off fees tend to be really high.

Kehl, directly across the Rhine from Strasbourg would be the closest option to the French border. But not all rental companies have branches there. Or in one of the cities along the Rhine valley: e.g. Freiburg, Offenburg, Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe.

E.g. from Kehl there is a train at 05:47 and with a transfer in Paris you%26#39;re in Agen at 15:37. This train departs in Karlsruhe at 05:02 and Baden-Baden at 05:21.
