first trip thoughts.

Have just returned from my first trip to Germany.

VERY IMPRESSED!!

Everything works,it%26#39;s clean and most people are helpful.

HOTEL BERIAL:

Excellent location,about three stops from railway station.

Near a large park and near large stores.

Two stops on tram from the old part of town.(No.76)

Although the Hotel is in a residental area there is a cake shop opposite and a food store next door.

How safe is the area?

Getting my taxi to the Airport at 7.30am it was still dark.

The people who live in flats by the Hotel and have a bike leave their

cycles tied to the lampost overnight without fear of the BIKE BEING STOLEN!!

Excellent breakfast.

Nice rooms even if the beds are a bit small they are changed every day.

Plan on returning.

Did you get to match?

is it worth staying both nights in Dusseldorf?

Going to BVB v Bayern Munich this Friday.

Late match 8.30pm.

Dont fancy driving or train late at night so looking to stay in Dortmund.

Did you use trains much.

Heard they are quite dear.

Car hire 100 euros. Four os us travelling. Probably opt for car.

All advice helpful.

Trains are superb in Germany and as you may know all transport is included with your match ticket?

The stadium in Dortmund has three underground stops so not much trouble getting a train back to main terminal.

Not sure how late trains run but like everything else in Germany probably well organized?

Takes 70 minutes from Dusseldorf to Dortmund.

Get to Dortmund a few hours before the game then you can have a look at the former Gestapo prison which is now a museum and is free to enter.

It%26#39;s next to the Cinema as you exit the station.

Opposite side to main square.

Atmosphere before games is great.

Beer and sausages all around.

You can drink in your seat during the game!!!!!

Not rip-off costs either.

Enjoy!
