taxi questions

Looking at the graphic of a BVG map online, I noticed in Allee Berliner there is a Taxi icon.

Does this denote a taxi office is there, or does it mean a taxi rank which may or may not have any taxi%26#39;s in the rank?

Ta!

Hmmmm? On the legend of the main BVG map there are no taxi icons.

But generally this will mean a taxi rank. And than there are normally taxis there available. At least at the times at which it makes sense there. (e.g. if an airport closes down a few hours during night, it makes no sense to wait there with a taxi for customers)

thanks Abalada!

another question about taxis - in some guide books I%26#39;ve read there%26#39;s a freephone number to phone for a taxi anywhere in Berlin. Is this correct?

If so, I won%26#39;t need to insert any cards in phone boxes to call them, will I?

you%26#39;ve probably got more chance of finding a taxi (either at a rank, or flagging one down in the street) than you have of finding a phone box !!

There are so many taxis around berlin there is no need to worry about hailing one (unless of course you find yourself in the middle of the GrueneWald, but there again you wont find a telephone box there either !!!)

GREAT!

Will continue to suss out public transport routes, then!!
