Hilton Munich city or Hilton Munich Park

Hello, We will be traveling to Munich with our 3 1/2 year old in early August. We are looking for accomodations with a central location, air conditioning, close to casual restaurants (cafes, delis, pizza places, coffee shops). Does anybody know if either of these Hiltons has casual restaurants nearby? Which one would be better location wise? Is Marienplatz within walking distance (how many miles?) Thanks for any advice you can give me!

The Hilton Munich Park is next to the Englischer Garten, the big park in Munich. It is not within easy walking distance of many restaurants; the nearest public transportation (streetcars) stops also require some walking. It is quite a way from the Marienplatz. However, it is a very nice and elegant hotel.

As other post noted, Park Hilton is not that close to casual restaurants, though there is a great beer garden at Seahaus which is in walking distance of the hotel. I stayed at Park Hilton while on biz last April and thought it was very nice, though more of a business hotel (ie not particularly family friendly). When we were in Munich a couple months back to take European Delivery of our BMW, we stayed at Hotel Uhland and brought along our kids 10/11. A little more family friendly (they have rooms with 2 queen beds and roughly half what the Hilton costs). If you%26#39;re set on the Hilton, however, the City hilton is a better location and has direct access to the S-bahn.
