Squirrels in Berlin

Are there squirrels in Treptower park?

|||

The European red squirrels or the grey squirrels?

Mostlikely: yes

Last year some wild boars made it even up to Alexanderplatz (where the TV tower) - which is much more central.

Treptower Park is more or less directly connected to Berlin%26#39;s water and forest landscape. 42,8% of the surface of the district Treptow-Köpenick (the largest of Berlin%26#39;s districts) is covered by forests. And 36,5% is covered by water.

yes I did once see a squirrel.

Used to see wild boars also up Teufelsberg. Scary stuff when they charge at you, make a nasty dent in your car. Boars at Alexanderplz, now that%26#39;s something !

I would love to see wild boars in Berlin! :-) That said, probably best to keep a safe distance from them!?

Are red squirrels still common in Germany? So used to seeing greys everywhere in London, they are a fun sight to see and it is nice to at least have some wildlife in the city - but it is sad that they have chased off all the reds.

hmmm... I would like to feed red ones, but grey are ok, too... ;)

ok, it%26#39;s just for fun, pictures etc...

See my other reply - there are definitely red squirrels in the Hasenheide (U Hermannplatz/Sudstern)
