I%26#39;m contemplating a short break in Berlin in May.
I%26#39;ve seen all the %26#39;usual%26#39; tourist sights, and wondered if anyone could recommend something different?
Yes, I do see the arrogance in seeming to claim to have seen all there is to see in Berlin but I don%26#39;t mean it that way!

Depends on what you call usual tourist sights too of course. We visited Märkisches Museum, Berliner-Mauer-Gedenkstätte and Charlottenburg Palace on our week%26#39;s visit 2 years ago, none of which are A-list . A previous visit we%26#39;d done Bröhan-Museum amongst others.
Lonely Planet has loads of more unusual suggestions. In Friedrichstrasse station bookshop recently I bought 2 thin thematic guides (a bit pricey but very good and available in English as well as German). They are Pastfinder Berlin (1933-45 and 1945-89) which give other off-the-beaten track suggestions.

New Berlin do a daily free tour but it%26#39;s most likely what you%26#39;ve seen but they also do another tour which looks at the dark side of the Nazis in Berlin, I think it costs about 8 euros but it is not daily, check out their website for details.
