Does anyone know if it is possible to travel from Franfurt to Cologne via boat? We are looking for a day trip if possible during the summer.

Not from Frankfurt, but there are boat courses from Mainz to Köln in summer - however the really nice part is between Bingen and Bonn, before and after this the Rhine flows through flat, heavily industrialised landscape.
