Where to find Steinbach nutcrackers

We hope to visit Germany next year to see some Christmas markets. We collect Steinbach nutcrackers and are wondering which market(s) would offer us the greatest selection. In lieu of finding them at the markets, where in Germany might we locate them? Thanks so much for your help.

Depends on which Christmas markets you are visiting. If you are in the Munich/Nuremberg area, it%26#39;s not difficult to find stores carrying Steinbach. (Heck-- it%26#39;s difficult to find stores that don%26#39;t!) Just one for instance-- Kathe Wolfhart has a huge selection of all types of Christmas items, including Steinach, KWO, Ulbright and other nutcrackers. The Wolfharts have large stores almost everywhere-- granted they are a little too tourist oriented for my taste but they are usually well stocked. They currently have 5 (yes-- five) locations in Rothenburg ob Der Tauber (some specialize in wood carvings) and one in Nurmeberg. So if you go to the Nuremberg market you can check out one there or drive the 1 hour to Rothenburg and check out the stores there. (I highly recommend it because Rothenburg is a beautiful town and has a moderate size Christmas market also. In addition, there are probably a half dozen other stores in town carrying various brands, including Steinbach). Further south, they have a large store in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and 2 in Oberammergau. (Some places, like Oberammergau and G-P, that exist on tourist trade, have many numerous shops and christmas shops that carry Steinbach. )If you are in western Germany, they have a store in Heidelberg and-- since you seem to like France-- even one in Riquewhir in Alsace. They even have a store in Minnesota!

Anyway, wherever you are in Germany, look around the edges of the Christmas Markets. You will probably find any number of tourist oriented shops carrying Steinbach.
