My husband are I will be staying in Munich (and Bavaria) from Friday (before Easter) until Sunday (4/6/07-4/8/07) . Afterwards, we will be heading towards Venice (Padua, Verona, Murano), Florence and Siena (Italy from 4/8-4/14/07) Will restaurants/shops/museums be open during this time or will the cities generally be shut down? Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Stores and shops will close at 13:00 on Saturday and all day Sunday.
If the weather is nice a visit to Nymphenburg Palace and Park would be a pleasant excursion. Tram # 17 runs from the platz in front of the Hauptbahnhof to the Schloß Nymphenburg stop and from there it is about a 10 minute walk.

On Sundays, admission to the Neue Pinakothek is only 1 €. pinakothek.de/neue-pinakothek/index_en.php…

In fact Good friday and easter monday are bank holidays, so shops will be closed on the 6th, the 8th and the 9th. Saturday is not a holiday and I would expect shops to have their regular opening hours (until 6 to 8 p.m., depending on shop size). Restaurants are open all days, several (not all) museums are closed on mondays anyway. Some museums closed on good friday (Deutsches Museum), but the majority will be open. On good friday there%26#39;s a procession in the city center.
