Airport Express from Schoenefeld to Hauptbahnhof

Can anyone help, please?

I%26#39;d like to get whichever train in from the airport that goes into the new railway station.

Some sites say Airport Express special trains run only twice an hour.

Others say an S-bahn train every 20 mins goes into the new station.

I%26#39;m really looking forward to seeing the new station%26#39;s architecture!

Thanks.

Your info is correct. Airport Express trains RB14, RE7 twice an hour and S-Bahn S9 every 20 mins from Schönefeld Airport to Hauptbahnhof (two different types of trains).

And both are right.

The Airport Express is not a special train - it is simply a Regional Express train connecting small and medium towns in southeastern Brandenburg with Berlin, which stops at Schoenefeld airport.

The S-Bahn line S9 terminates at the airport. It is more frequent but stops everywhere while the Airport Express RE only stop 3-4 times between the airport and the main station.

This gives you about 5 connections per hour to the center.

It is really huge and confusing - two main plattform halls in two levels, at a right angle to each other, with two intermediate levels with shops, etc.

What i sadly missed was a bookshop though.

Thankyou very much, both of you.

I had misunderstood the %26#39;Express%26#39; - thought it was something like the Vienna CAT.

Does that mean, basically, that all trains from Schoenefeld go into the Hbf?

No. Only aboved mentioned trains RB14/RE7 (Airport Express) and S-Bahn S9 are direct trains to Hauptbahnhof and are covered by a standard Berlin AB (2,10 EUR) ticket.

There is one more S-Bahn line and a couple of regional trains which are not routed via Hauptbahnhof.

Thankyou! I appreciate that information.

Just use the BVG timetable and use the connection which suits you most.

From: SXF

To: Berlin, Hbf

Single ticket is EUR 2,10. Whatever combination you use to reach the Hauptbahnhof.
