Restaurant questions

I%26#39;m looking for suggestions for somewhere to eat on the night we arrive in Berlin. Our flight doesn%26#39;t get in until 8pm therefore it%26#39;s going to be at least 9pm (more like 9.30) by the time we drop our bags at our hotel (the Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz in Mitte) and are ready to go and eat.

I%26#39;m not sure if the best thing is to stay in Mitte or whether it would be just as quick to jump on the metro and head somewhere else. It doesn%26#39;t look like there%26#39;s many places in the vicinity of the hotel.

Will we have trouble getting a table somewhere this late? Also, we arrive on Valentines day, are the restaurants likely to be really busy? I don%26#39;t really mind what type of food we eat as long as it%26#39;s tasty, but would prefer somewhere that%26#39;s not too expensive.

All suggestions much appreciated!

Hi,

there are some restaurants in walking distance. Most of them at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. just off Alexanderplatz, among others a Steakhouse (Blockhouse) a german and a spanish restaurant. Another option would be the Nikolaiviertel with mainly german restaurants. Hackescher Markt is also in walking distance...there you find countless restaurants. You shouldn%26#39;t have any problems to get a table.

If you don%26#39;t mind a 5 minute metro trip (25 minute walk) you could head to Kollwitzplatz (Prenzlauer Berg). This is my favourite area for eating out.

My favourite restaurants around Kollwitzplatz:

german cuisine:

Cafe K. Froehlich, Belforterstr. 22, 10405 Berlin.

catalan:

Bar Aragon, Diedenhofer Str. 6....just a Tapas bar but great food, great atmosphere and fair prices.

My favourite italian restaurant:

Cenacolo, Sredzkistraße 23....look here for more infos: schlemmerinfo.de/eng/…index.html

If you like Sushi/Korean food you should try the Reiskugel, Kollwitzstr. 74. Look here: http://www.reiskugel.com

:-)

I can%26#39;t really recommend any restaurant but I think solid8 gave you enough recommendations for the start. Don%26#39;t worry about getting a table quite late. You shouldn%26#39;t have any problems.
