Frankfurt Airport Layover- Distance from Town?

My husband and I will be travelling through Europe in May and have a layover in the Frankfurt airport from 9:30 AM to 3 PM.

Is this enough time to leave the airport and see some of the city?

How long does it take to get into the city center ?

What%26#39;s the fastest mode of transportation?

Where would you recommend going if we only have a few quick hours to spend?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Depends - if your second flight goes within EU and your luggage is checked through, yes.

About 15-20 min by S-Bahn (depending on where you want to get out)

%26gt;What%26#39;s the fastest mode of transportation?

S-Bahn (commuter train) as mentioned above

Just stroll through the city center - you won%26#39;t have time for more.

Do you land at 9:30? If so by the time you clear customs it may be 11 before you actually leave the airport. I found arriving from the West Coast I feel a little loopy for awhile so just take it easy and get some fresh air. I found the Frankfurt airport very smokey and was anxious to get outside after that long flight. Also be careful...you go thru more than one security check point...allow plenty of time...the lines can be long and just when you think you have cleared security here comes another checkpoint. Like the above poster..it doesn%26#39;t take long to get into the city center...
