Amusement parks,outlet stores,the beach club...

Hello!

We will be (once again) visiting cologne next may,

this time by a car,so:

Is there any outlet stores or big shopping malls outside (~200km)

cologne worth to visit?

Any amusement parks nearby? I´ve heard about %26quot;movie park%26quot;

is it a go or nogo?

Last time our visit was during winter but this time it will be almost summer, so how about visiting %26quot;cologne beach club%26quot;?

It looks nice but is it just a club or what is it???

Any other clubs to have a peek of cologne nightlife?

Any info would be appreciated!

There is a large outlet in the Netherlands - in Roermond. This is about 50 km from Düsseldorf - so it should be not more than 80 km from Cologne. One nice feature: it opens on Sundays (but then it is packd with people):

Amusement Parks: there is the Movie World in Bottrop (in the heart of the old industrial area Ruhrgebiet): www.moviepark.de/moviepark/home/index_en.cfm…

I persoanlly have not een there. It used to belong to WarnerBros but not anymore.

You could combine it with the Centro-O in Oberhausen - Germanys biggest shopping mall. But it is Oberhausen - so you probably find mostly the usual chain stores.

Beach Clubs: usually the Clubs offer a strip of sand and some nice leisure chairs. Chill Out music and cocktails and stuff like this. Some will charge you an entrance fee. It is fun on a sunny day - since there is no real beach anywhere (well, you could go down to the river banks of the Rhine river - there you find some sandy parts (at least close to Düsseldorf).

Nightlife: there are many opportunities - depends heavily on your tatse of musis and age group you prefer.
